(I am starting to wonder how fine the line is between BC and AF with this thread)
How fine is the line between paranoia and preparedness? ;)
It depends greatly on the factual (let me reinforce FACTUAL) information held by the individual.
I also carried survey meters for a number of years, along with bunker gear, evidence bags/cans and adjustable 5 sided nut wrenches.
I still have the wrenches, but had to turn the other gear in. I am seriously considering getting survey meters of my own after traveling I-80 as much as I do, and see what is going by on a daily basis.
One thing I would suggest that everyone get a copy of the book by the DOT that "decodes" the numbers on placards that trucks and train cars have on their sides. The last I knew they never printed enough to begin with and those all went to emergency service personnel. You might have to pull in a few favors, or make some serious trades. This book will tell you what is in that overturned truck a mile away from your transmitter or studio site, and give you the evacuation tables, and do's and dont's of the material itself. If nothing else, it is very interesting information on what is beside you on the highway.
