[BC] 1 kW AM transmitters, old or new solid state

They did the same thing for the DAX-5. Still lost my annual module.
The transmitter needs to make 5500 watts to make power (common point)
and it keeps backing itself down to about 4.25 kW. As part of the
"upgrade" they replaced the power supply fans that had just failed and I
had replaced just before they sent the mod for the power supply
standoffs which actually allowed air to circulate through the supplies.
It seems like I even got a new back door which allowed more
ventilation. Most people who know me would say I am a Harris fan. This
transmitter is a poor design and it did not make power out of the box.
Apparently they put in cooling fans, some of which did not provide tech.
signals to the controller and even though they were running the
transmitter would not make anything near full power. Of course I
"Borrowed" the tech. signal from a good fan and tricked it into making
full power. Happy 4th of July! I will never forget it.
