One other thing I didn't mention about the Gates/SX series TX's.  The RF 
PA's come in at least two freq. ranges with some overlap.  The board is the 
same, but there are some subtle parts differences in caps and such in each 
amplifier module.  I want to say the crossover is in the 1100Khz range.

 From what I recall, the changing of the parts is not hard, but time 
consuming.  For a SX/Gates 1, about an hour for someone skilled.  The 5 
will take most of a day between removal and reinstallation.
