A colleague, (non-technical), is faced with the problem of replacing
an ancient server-based automation system for a cluster--with no
budget. Prophet quoted him $100K.

He uses natural log and natural music for log generation. He's seen
our Simian systems, which would probably work for two of his stations~
a news talk and a music station, both satellite fed, but the other two
stations require something that can be used either live assist or
voice-tracked for music-intensive formats.

Suggestions? I thought Enco might be able to help him out but its
been a long time since I've looked at any of their systems. Given the
availability of cheap, and large, hard drives my inclination would be
to use several stand-alone pc-based systems, rather than a server-work
station approach. Especially if his budget is that limited. However,
I think I would want a touch-screen based system for a live
music/personality format.

Any suggestions?
