This rig, if tuned for minimum AM noise will BURN!
You tune it for maximum efficency, neutralize it well, and take the AM noise
you get.
If you do this, incidental AM will be down about 45-50 db. Regular AM noise
will be down about 55 db. You can get both down even further by putting extra
filter caps on the screen supply-as close to the tube socket as possible.
You also have to make sure that the parasitic suppressors in the cavity (small
dipoles connected to large resistors) are firmly connected and that the
resistors are the correct value (they drift).

If you follow the rules regarding this box, it will be one of the most
reliable you can find. Otherwise, it will burn your transmitter building
down!

WOW!

I have NEVER seen a site, transmitter or tube where my goal, before
leaving the site, was to not tune from minimum AM noise.

If I couldn't, something was wrong.

I just don't get this!

If you cannot get very low synchronous AM noise, your listeners are
going to have apparent multi-path, or stereo noise.

Is that OK?
