[BC] Windows Vista

Been running Windows 7 for about two months now as part of the Beta and it's
solid for the most part... There are some quirks with some drivers, but I
expected that with an OS that is not yet released. The performance is, IMHO,
better than what I've gotten from XP on the same machine. So far I'm
impressed with what they've done with it. The visual elements are the same
as Vista...

My contacts tell me that Win7 is actually a pretty good system.
They tell me that it's basicly Vista, with all the protectionism
striped out, and a few bug fixes.

They also tell me that Vista has officially been an embarrassing
under performer for M$ both technically, and financially.
Apparently, M$ learned something from trying to cow tow to
the RIAA, and other digital "rights" management folks.

 We can hope.

I acquired a copy of Vista Business a while ago, and so far
it won't run on any of the 7 machines I've tried to get it to
 run on.
It'll load, but that's about it.
It *will* run, sorta, on one of them, but only with a resolution
of 640x480 and 16 colors. Fat lot of good THAT is !
There's no worry for me stealing, pirating, whatever, high
quality video on THAT machine !
I guess DRM was a success on that one.
