ABC also believed that the low band was going to be scrapped for TV, back in
the 50's, and the high band would then become the low band. They were
positioning all of their stations to be on the lowest channel on the band.
All of their very largest TV's are on channel 7 because of this. New York,
Chicago, LA and several more are on channel 7.
That did not happen and their stations wound up on the low channel on the
high band and some people at ABC believed that to be somewhat of a
disadvantage.
