As I viewed the story and wondered "what would I do if it were me?", I too thought I would likely sue to replace my antenna, but dropped the idea in a hurry. 

My 2-meter Moxon cost me $8.00 to build out of PVC and cheap steel wire. A portable Oscar 51 antenna  and a handheld cubical quad to monitor the ISS are both made of recycled cardboard and more cheap steel wire. I have a 75' longwire made from, well, a "long wire" that I found. And the coax to connect it to my rig was a door prize from a ham gathering at an NAB show a few years ago.

If these clowns blew up all of my antennas - including my DTV antenna also made of PVC - they could reimburse me with just their pocket change.
