If you're worried, check it with a SA....
use one with a "memory" - either persistent phosphors or RAM....
(this from the guy who would like to get his HP 8557A / 182A repaired 
and recalibrated - it won't focus!  I suspect the pot - maybe one of the 
diodes in the focus chain... no HV probe to check, though.  Hey!  Does 
anyone have any ideas about how to maybe home-brew a HV probe?  100 meg 
resistor or something?  I'm well aware of the need for a HiPot holder, 
but what about the guts?  For use with standard DMM / DVMs?)
