 I assume that by default, anyone reading one of my replies has
 read the original post, so all I need, is JUST enough to put my
 reply comment in context of the original, and no more.

 Occasionally, I'll get an off-list comment from someone who has seen
 my reply, but had filtered out the original.
 I figure it's worth the small hassle for a few to go back and read
 the original, to not burden the whole list with needless repetition
 of redundant redundancy repeatedly repeated.
 ;)
