[BC] Franklin Antenna - KTTO (ex-KREM)]

   Thanks for the information. I looked up Franklin antenna and 
Franklin tower in web searches but there was nothing which specifically 
defined what one is.

   Yes, I understand that the KREM (now-KTTO) tower is not a true 
Franklin, but I have heard people call it that. I think I would be 
satisfied to call it a modified Franklin.

   I got the total height of the tower from the FCC records.  The 
records state that the first insulating point is at 305 feet, the second 
is at 487 feet, and the AM radiator stops at 663 feet.  The total height 
including the TV array is at least 712 feet. One record states that it 
is 752 feet, but I think that may be a typographical error.

   Now how do I write this up without sounding too geekish.

   I am glad we figured out that the shorter tower still in use at the 
site was from the original KGA array from 1942. (That makes it the 
second oldest radio tower still standing in Spokane. KXLY is the oldest 
of course.) Have you seen the other KGA tower laying on the ground next 
to the taller tower? I was surprised at the good condition of the tower 
metal, even though the bolts were rusted.
