If I understand your question correctly, then I'd have to suggest
KGFJ 1230 in Los Angeles. About 15 years ago they changed the call
letters to KYPA (Your Personal Achievement). Not only that, they have
been using the same antenna since 1924, an Inverted-L. The
transmitter is even in the same disgusting room.
The station was purchased from "The City Dye Works" in 1922 for
$250.00 and moved to it's present location at Washington and Oak
Street near Dwontown Los Angeles in 1924 by Ben McGlashan and Cal
Smith. Ben was the owner and Cal was his High School buddy. Cal was
W6BRD and also GM at KFAC for 33 years. I'm sorry to say that I
don't remember Ben's call but he and Cal used to come over to my home
all the time.
