I know. It's not the copyrights, or the fees, as high as they are... it's the 
strict limitations on how many times any given artist can be played within a 
3-hour window. It's absurd, and would make my format so difficult to do 
properly, it wouldn't work. There will be times when a given artist's music would 
need to be played more often than that. I'd have to modify the format too much 
to comply with their nonsense. With those modifications, the station loses the 
uniqueness that would set it apart from the *Hundreds* of others with very 
similar music. IOW, a waste of money and effort. It would have little to set it 
apart from the others, so what would be the point?

For example, you couldn't do a "featured artist" by playing a bunch of their 
songs. An on-air station has no such restrictions.
