[BC] Sports headsets

Update.

I got the Sennheiser HMD25's today.

The headphones were decent. The mic was pretty good - nice and crisp,
although the output requires the mic pre's on my equipment to be almost
wide open.

Call me picky, but there's just no bottom on the mics on any of the
headsets commonly used, including this one. I'd even settle for
"somewhat warm" over "ballsy", but none of them get even to that.

These are being used by screaming, abusive sports announcers - they're
to be used on a bunch of sports talk remotes we do. We're using SM58's
and Sony heaphones right now which sound good, but stick mics on stands
don't work well when the talent turns toward each other to talk, and
guests won't stay on mic.

It looks like I'll be trying the AKG HSD 171's next - about the same
price, and the frequency response curve looks a bit fatter on the
bottom. Anyone had experience with them?
