I'm very saddened to hear this.  I was just thinking about him a few days ago.  He and I worked on the WJR Windsor Tunnel rebroadcasting system several years ago.  Nice guy, legendary engineer.

I have not seen any other post abut this, but the broadcast community 
lost another great one. Ed Buterbaugh, exceptionally brilliant engineer 
for CKLW and WJR, died recently.

    Ed was given the Engineer of the Year award by the Michigan 
Association of Broadcasters Engineering Board. I was very happy to be on 
that board serving with Ed, until he retired.

    He was one of the great ones. The sound he got out of CKLW and WJR 
is truly legendary.
