[BC] Sports headsets

Hello all.

I'm getting ready to buy some sports headsets for some sports talk shows
were doing on location.  These shows are on FM.

I like they Beyerdynamic DT290's for comfort, but the mic frequency
response is, well, "intercom" range.

I've used Sennheiser HMD280's and the boom lock always wears out, and
again the mic element sound quality is less than stellar.

If I could design my own, I'd make a set that's durable, the headphones
sound like a decent pair of Sony's, and the mic sounds like an SM58.

I understand that the Sennheiser HMD-25 series supposedly sounds good,
but I'm trying to avoid the hassle of ordering different units to
compare and return.

I also like the specs, but haven't heard, of the Beyerdynamic DT297's,
but I'd have to phantom power them puppies - something I wouldn't allow
to go on the road with anyone but lest the smoke might be let out of my
Tieline.

Anyone have any suggestions?
