In cases where I know the problem is random noise, I pull the interested
manager to the locations of question and sit a FIM on a tripod. When the
FIM hears the signal quite well and his crappy car radio doesn't, it's a
simple example of the difference between high quality and mass
production/cost and quality reduction. I usually then get a blank stare
and a "harumph" from the PD/GSM/GM/owner when they realize it's not the
station most of the time.
The problem is that the masses have the crappy radios. No matter how sweet
the transmitters signal is, a windshield antenna or $10 clock radio that
can't receive the station does no one any good.
