Putting a tone on it is really easy, if you feed it with an M-67... 
built-in oscillator.  Just don't forget to 1) flip switch on back to 
enable tone or mic as needed 2) leave it on, and the levels up, and 
3) plugged in.

Same or similar, of course, if you stick an MP3 player or whatever on 
it between uses....
