That's interesting... I have had exactly the opposite experience! For me, it 
has worked almost 100% of the time, flawlessly. Only on OLDER drives or 
MoBo's, have I had to "force" the drives into M/S mode.

Truly, "YMMV" applies ANY time you're dealing with these infernal machines!
