Besides Enco there is Simian with added switching units. Besides the
regular program log coming from the traffic computer, there is a timed
events sequence log which can be programmed to do certain things at
the same time every day, or selected days. This would seem to work
well for your live feeds & net joins, since you do not need to program
it into your traffic system (except as a {REM} type of non-event to
make your printed log legible) We use it to play an Id, then take the
top of the hour ABC news, in your use you could have a command to
start a sounder then a second later, turn on the live studio. The
system can be configured for 24 relay functions with a usb driver
module and relay board from Measurement computing
Our console channels can be remotely turned off and on, so we use the
system to switch net feeds on and off. Obviously, this could be a live
feed, with the risk that the news readers may be brain dead when their
feed is turned on!
We routinely capture net spots and replay then, especially at night
when we must replay ABC spots during a Premier program feed. I believe
it can be configured to record and replay off different feeds if you
add more than one sound card, but never tried this. Of course, you
could use the system to externally switch the record input feed as
needed to various sources for record and delayed replay.
