Tim Valley actually invented PC automation, IIIRC, with his DOS-based Audisk.
The "AirForce" was developed as a second or third generation
replacement for Audisk while he was working with Marty Hijmans, who
developed the first operational localized satellite automation
network with Audisk and ComStream gear for Cliff Gardiner and KZYR
here in Avon, Colorado. That network was purchased some years ago
and now owned and operated by Waitt Radio.
I think that Crown also had an "AirForce" automation product back in
the early 90's ... though I don't know how well it was
deployed. Used to see it in the NAB North Hall at NAB...
