The provider I use _for e-mail_ - San Francisco, California-based The
WELL, is an Internet Service Provider (with an emphasis on "Service").

I have said for years that you should never fly on the MD-80...wait, wrong
list.

I have said for years that if you want dependable Internet email, you
should use an Internet e-mail provider whose basic purposes is Internet
related.  Not a telephone company, television provider, "free" e-mail
service, electric company, etc.

Sure, my ISP has downtime.  But nothing like the stories I hear here.

But then again, our IT guy at my full time job has this phrase framed in
his office:

"Email is not reliable"
