WHY do you continue to use Comcast for mail?

I can actually understand why you MUST use Comcast for mail. I was
trapped with Adelphia for quite some time. They were my only choice
for anything but dial-up. BUT, there was no way I was going to let
them provide my mail. I laughed when they dumped all their customers
mail. They COULD NOT lose mine!

The second Verizon started providing DSL, I dropped my 4 Mb/sec
Adelphia cable for 1.5 Mb/sec Verizon DSL and actually got faster
service. I don't use their mail service either.

I understand that if you don't have a choice, you don't have a choice
-- but that is for broadband only.

BUT YOU DO HAVE A CHOICE ON MAIL!

You can either use a "free" service like G-Mail, Hotmail, AOL (OMG
NO!), Juno... there are MANY.

You can get a service like PO Box that offers everything you might
possibly need, and will even set your mail up with your own existing
or new domain. Full POP/IMAP service is only offered on their most
expensive service, but it is only $50 a year, and I cannot imagine
you think your frustration level with Comcrap wouldn't be worth $50!
They do have service as low as $20, but you still need a place to
forward your mail as it doesn't include POP or IMAP, but does include
SMTP for outgoing mail.

Since you have a domain, PO Box will take care of your mail using
that domain at no extra charge, or you can have them set one up for
you at $15 a year. OH, PO Box has really good SPAM blocking.

AND, when Comcrap cuts off your cable, you can STILL get to your
mail. You can either hold an AOL disk in reserve and sign up for the
free trial, or just get a $4.95/month dial-up account with Juno or a
similar service. It is a good back-up, and will come in handy when
traveling to remote or rural areas with no high speed access. OR you
can use some cellular data card. All you need to be able to do is
get on the Internet.

The point is, if you get your mail off Comcrap you will then have
options, not have the delays, and not have so many size limitation
limits, delay in delivery, and lost mail.

Also, pull it off the server for two reasons. One is that once you
do that, they cannot lose it, AND since we know they don't know what
they are doing, you can be sure their security isn't good, and as
long as it is on the server hackers may be able to get to it.

Good luck.
