Any suggestions on new equipment now on the market in this price range?
PA-style stuff with too many knobs (e.g.--Mackie, etc.) is out. Anything
Arrakis I've seen looks like something that should be left out in the desert
for the sand worms.
AEQ? the BC312 is listed at $2700, but I've never seen one.

I bought an AEQ BC500 once and I liked it, but it's outside your price
range. The BC300 series look like toys in comparison. They may work well,
though.
The new small Audioarts AIR-1 and AIR-2 look interesting but are still a bit
small for my taste. The Arrakis ARC-10 also looks promising, and I expect
to take a peek at it next week at the NAB. In spite of what some people say
about Arrakis, KWXY has a 12000 in Production B and it has given us no
problems whatsoever. I wish I could say that about our Audioarts R-60.
Really flaky switches.
Also, check out the stuff from Axel Technology. The Oxygen 3 sells for less
than half of your budget, and the Oxygen 4 and 5 look interesting, too.
