...and we all know how corrosive those RF electrons can be if they drip onto 
the floor of the transmitter.  All too often we see those little spots 
usually accompanied by little brown oblong objects suspected of being the 
accumulation of heavy rock music modulation in the RF.

Please be serious here. This is NOT a humor
message board! The additional heat shrink
tubing ensures lower loss by sealing the
outer jacket to prevent the escape of flowing
electrons.
