[BC] Boston CBS cutbacks

I cannot speak to the Kulhawik decision, however. . .

I watched the entire last season of Patriots football, and
after each game went to channel 38 (WBZ's dumping ground)
to watch WSBK's 5th Quarter. It is an unfortunate truth, and
very sad, that Bob Lobel has lost his edge, and by that I
mean that it appears that he is sinking into some kind of
mental slowness akin to that which accompanies
Alzheimer's disease. It had become painful to watch, and
CBS had resorted to always having a younger person on
camera with Bob to help prompt him through his bits.

He'd always had a delivery that seemed a bit like inebriation,
and may have endeared himself to certain segments of the
sports-fan universe because of it, but it's gotten much worse.

Sometimes it's time to go.

My time is coming real soon, I'm starting to notice the same
kind of mental slowness in myself. Now where did I leave
my rockin' chair?

The people they canned in Boston had been there for decades...They were
literally institutions.
This is concrete proof that these big companies don't give a rat's ass about
the communities they are licensed to serve.
Of course, the FCC will (next) likely grant them indefinite licenses, so
they
can serve them even less!

No, they know *more* about broadcasting than engineers, talent, etc.,
because they know *everything* about our business...
