I've seen some line that may be this stuff, though I thought it was 62 or 63 
ohms. It was bigger than RG-17, about an inch diameter or more....

Being a "tad" older than many of you, it would NOT surprise me to find that 
the Xmtr-Atu line would be older 72 ohm poly cable.
 There was a plenty of it in the 50's and 60's left over from WWII.
 And was rather cheap AIRC.
 The resistance difference noted in the series of the discussions leads me 
to suggest this may be a possibility.
 Then the line current would be = to 1000/ sqr72 ( 13.888a)=3.72A line 
current.
 That would put the transmitter in a bit better set of parameters.
