He was reading a meter wrong. PA Volts, not output power. Silly
mistake, I've done that, I'm sure we all have :)

Ammeter reading = square root of [power you want divided by the resistance]
I = sqrt(P/R)
If you want 1250 watts and the line impedance is 50 ohms it's:
I = sqrt(1250/50)
I = sqrt(25)
i = 5 amperes
