RG-8 (even Tandy-after all, they are the only place to get it on a Saturday
night-been there done that!) will work in a pinch....but it's a temporary
repair at best.

Though I know of at least one station who has had that "temporary" repair run
along the ground in place for over a decade.

And another who uses 300 feet of it every day with a Nautel 400 watt-and gets
big time coverage (WJIB-ask Rich Wood about their coverage).

Its remarkable how well a Nautel AMFET-1 performs after replacing a
200' (or so) run of Tandy RG-8 with Andrew half inch.  Been there done
that.
