Talker Wins Libel Judgment Against Crosstown Rivals

BEASLEY BROADCASTING Talk WGAC-A/AUGUSTA, GA personality AUSTIN 
RHODES has been awarded $1.065 million in actual and punitive damages 
in his defamation suit against THE REJOICE NETWORK INC., licensee of 
crosstown Gospel WAAW.

RHODES sued REJOICE over comments made by WAAW hosts RYAN B and 
CHARLES "CHAMP" WALKER JR. that alleged RHODES had been arrested for 
or charged with spousal abuse, indecent exposure,and sex offenses and 
had called for a secondary boycott to get RHODES fired from WGAC and 
a local cable show, the latter from which RHODES was actually dismissed.
