Bob Keeshan was the first Clarabell. Of course he was better known as
Captain Kangaroo a bit later!

The term 'peanut gallery' used to refer to the balcony of a theatre where 
the - warning, an outdated term here - 'colored' were required to sit. They 
allegedly ate peanuts up there, thus the term.

The Howdy Doody show would be pilloried (also outdated - know what it 
means??) today for using such a reference. Incidentally, it was the 
bleachers where the kids/guests of the show would be seated.

How would Native Americans take to Princess SummerFallWinterSpring??
