I happened to be in a Wal-Mart today, and while there were no HD Radio
tuners on the car stereo rack, their lowest-priced JVC, the KD-G230 for
$99.95, had the most wideband-sounding AM receiver of all the radios they
had set up. I was lucky to be in a store that's almost literally across
the street from a 5 kW AM Oldies station (which is transmitting full 10
kHz NRSC audio), so the usual lack of an antenna wasn't an issue... but I
was surprised to actually hear the cymbals and hi-hats on Stevie Wonder's
"You Are The Sunshine Of My Life".

I would guess its AM audio response to be good up to at least 7 kHz or so.
But as for the sensitivity and selectivity, I can't tell. Even in the
parking lot on my car's normally good factory radio, the de-sense from the
nearby AM signal (WMTR) was noticeable across most of the band.
