At WFIF I had to chain *four* DSL filters to get that newfangled fax machine 
to work properly! There are three on the modem to the Transmitter Remote 
Control. 

Of course, we have 10 *volts* per meter of RF inside the building, so there 
ya go. Some years ago, I demonstrated this by holding a #47 (or similar) bulb 
in my fingers, and touching just the base to a wire on a telephone with the 
cover removed. The bulb glowed.
