I couldn't make this up! Here is the response from Dell's so-called
"Customer Care."


Dear Mr. Johnson,

I understand from your previous e-mail that you want to make sure that your new order comes with Windows XP. I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you and I will certainly assist you with this issue. 

I have reviewed your order and see that the computer you ordered is still with Windows Vista. I have two options to give you to give . First, since your order is still in production, you can call our Modification Department for the necessary changes you want to make on your order. You can contact them at:

Second, you can cancel your order now and place an order again for a system with Windows XP in it through our Online Sales Department at:
