Depends on your credit score and service history. I pay XM by personal
check and I'm invoiced every 12 months. Since 2004, I have not paid an
annual fee of more than $77.00 for two receivers. Up until last year, I paid
$60.00 for an annual service fee.
Like many companies today, XM has a customer retention department. I
contact them near the end of the 12-month service period and request the
reduced rate. It may take 2-3 tries on the phone, but it's worth the effort
to connect with a customer service rep who will agree to the reduced rate.
Again, your credit score and service history will be a determining factor
but there is certainly some room for rate bargaining.
