[BC] DTV and CATV

I haven't been keeping up with this lately, so...

When the DTV drop-dead date hits, do the CATV systems have to carry the
DTV signal in wide screen and convert at the set top, or can they trunk
a ready-to-watch 4:3 NTSC signal to the home?

Can the TV broadcasters (who direct feed) continue providing CATV
systems with analog 4:3 NTSC after the DTV cut-off day, or must the TV
stations provide only a digital signal?
