My thoughts exactly. As much as I needed a job, something like THAT would be 
an *automatic* deal-breaker.

The flipside, though, would be to insist that *they* buy *ME* a *complete* 
set of tools, with their logo or whatever engraved upon them. Buy me a toolbox, 
a car, a laptop, pay for my telephone, Internet, and anything else that I just 
MIGHT EVER use for them... then, when I left, they'd simply get all of THIER 
property back.

You could also "expense" anything you need to buy, so they can reimburse you. 
That way it truly *is* their property.
