[BC] NBC: Bye, bye, Burbank...

It would be very interesting if NBC did some kind of "Farewell to
Burbank" special before the Cats fire up, but for some reason I get the
feeling that the network is more interested in forgetting its past than
remembering. To think that that facility may become the site of another
high-priced SoCal condo development is hard to swallow right now.
On the technical side...I have a copy of the IRE Transactions on
Broadcasting, with an article on NBC's Burbank VTR facility--16 machines
to do network delay in an automated fashion. Fascinating stuff...
That must have been one heckuva patch bay...I'll bet that the full-time
guy who did the patching had dreams like the one Paul wrote about!
