There are a total of 29 DTV stations that will occupy TV channels 2-6 after
the DTV transition. TWENTY NINE! The FCC is going to take 30 mHz of prime VHF
spectrum NATION WIDE and reserve it for TWENTY NINE TV STATIONS! You call THAT
good spectrum management? I sure as HELL don't-especially when they could
accomodate THE ENTIRE AM BAND DIGITALLY within this spectrum! I'm TALKING that
the FCC would rather accomodate TWENTY NINE TV STATIONS over FIVE THOUSAND AM
STATIONS! I find it IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE that these 29 stations can't be put
within the other FOURTY SIX TV CHANNELS-especially once analog shuts off.

Dunno 'bout Congress (who does?), but there ARE allocations in
low-band for DTV operations.

"All the channels are between 2 and 51, with the rest of the channels
being reclaimed and auctioned for advanced wireless communications."

The final Report and Order - as RTF document - is available at

http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/FCC-07-138A1.d

Quick scan of the list shows Low-Band assignments in Alaska,
California, Colorado, Maine, Nebraska, Florida...

And that's just 2 and 3...and not all of those, even
