Yes, I remember C-QUAM.  I also remember back then when the popular  magazine 
"Radio-Electronics" (which has now been defunct for several years) had  a 
couple of articles for home-brew C-QUAM decoders.  I built one of those  and used 
it for a while, then I don't know what had happened to it.  I  think I may 
have given it away, as the few AM stations then in Colorado Springs,  CO, that 
were experimenting with AM Stereo dropped their plans and went back to  
standard AM.  That was many moons and many rolls of solder ago.   That's also back 
when I was a still-wet-behind-the-ears Novice-class ham radio  operator.
