In my travels, the most operational transmitters I have seen at
a given site is 3. While there are 5 transmitters at the WLW site, the
Cathinode and the Western Electric are currently out of service due to
mechanical problems (Cathinode is missing critical parts and the WE has
a broken heat exchanger. Of course I'm not even considering the 500kw
in the back room.
Watt Hairiston at WSM has two transmitters on line and a third
that is connected to nothing. It's operational, but it sits there in
case something happens to the big boxes.

I'm curious, what are the most amount of transmitters you've seen at a
stations transmitter which could readily be used on the air? I'm not
talking one back in storage but something that was swappable in mere
minutes..
I'm going to have an "new" main here and the current main will be
relegated to backup duty. IF I get a solid state unit, I'll
theoretically have 2 backups for a short time..
