WWL is a salt water shot and WBT is DA South as I recall. WSB is Non-DA with no conductivity The gorundystem was redone when they built the building and everything in the shopping center is grounded. All steel in the buildings in the center were bonded together and ground to the ground system.
But as I recall when I moved to Birmingham in 1974 was surprised at the signal of a Clear Channel on 750 in Birmingham. The 650 is Nashville has a much better signal.
I agree with Milton's aanalysis its the ground conductivity and that red clay.

I suspect that possibly you are in a skip zone for WSB, where the skywave
and groundwave may be cancelling.
