Dave mentioned WGUN and the old Westinghouse HG-2 in Atlanta.
The HG-2 is still at the site. It has not been operational since the late 90's....at least that's the last time it was reported as exercised in the transmitter log.
I wish I had the time to restore it....she's a quite impressive transmitter....was built to be 100,000 watts....and I believe it was originally built as a ship transmitter with "light iron." The "Frankenstein" high voltage vault is awesome!
