Yes, indeed, don't forget to make a shorted stub. We just took a piece of RG 8, cut it a little long, then matched it for best wswr, soldered and taped it. Hangs off the back of the exciter.
As is normal with a tube transmitter, you will see some high vswr into the exciter when the transmitter is off. Once the beast is running, it sinks back down. Neither the 802A nor the FX-50 seems to care.
