But when will we know we've reached "the end"? We've already waited five
years with no real improvement. Sure, maybe they've gotten the codecs to
sound a bit better since 2002, but on the RF side, iBiquity has actually
*loosened* their recommended RF mask, allowing more hash into the
sidebands, since real-world data began to show that their system could not
even meet its original spectral parameters. And on FM, many IBOC stations
have experienced a drastic *degradation* of their formerly "CD-quality"
digital audio, due to the addition of HD2 and HD3 channels. These are
definitely not steps in the right direction....
