I remember signing on, after midnight, once a month, in the 60s and having
Commercial Radio Monitoring Company verify/correct our frequency monitor
readings. We got some QSLs from that, too. That all went away with
inexpensive, accurate frequency counters.

And the elimination of the requirements we all had to check the calibrations
of our frequency monitors. Before economical counters the only way was
external zero-beat monitoring services. As most of remember many of our
transmitters crystals were more stable than our frequency monitors readings.

Is there anyone that still offeres frequency measurement service off the air
other than the FCC at Powder Springs, GA. ?
