No, no - this is "Variety"-speak, or "Slanguage," and it's older than
any of us reading this.

You've never seen their famous headline "STIX NIX HIX PIX," which
translated more or less as "Rural areas reject farm movies"?
Pick up a paper copy of Variety from the publication bins in Vegas next
month and you can see "slanguage" in all its glory.
