I recently saw a news report about the transition to digital TV on a local 
TV station.  The news report told about the end of analog TV, the new 
digital TVs and the Digital-to-Analog Coverter Box Program:

I also heard Clark Howard mention over-the-air high definition television.

I would say that they need to let the general public know about this 
transition.  This week I was talking to a well-educated man, who only 
watches over-the-air television.  He had no idea that his analog TV would be 
obsolete in a couple of years without a converter box.  Once I told him what 
was available locally from Alabama Public TV on their digital channels, he 
seemed really interested, but still wanted to wait until the converter boxes 
get cheaper.  I think many people have absolutely no idea what is going to 
happen to over-the-air TV.
