Fast National ratings for Friday, March 16, 2007

The second night of the NCAA men's basketball tournament scored for
CBS Friday, carrying the Eye to a ratings win.

CBS averaged a 5.9 rating/10 share for the night, with those numbers
likely to change a little because of adjustments for live broadcasts.
NBC's 5.5/10 was good for second. ABC finished third at 4.6/8, a
little ahead of FOX, 4.2/7. The CW trailed with a 2.8/5.

CBS also led among adults 18-49 with a 3.4 rating. NBC took second
with a 2.4, followed by ABC, 2.2, and FOX, 2.0. The CW drew a 1.5 in
the demographic.

NBC's "1 vs. 100" led the 8 p.m. hour with a 5.9/10, edging CBS' March
Madness coverage, 5.5/10. A "House" rerun on FOX was third at 4.4/8,
finishing ahead of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" repeat. The CW earned a
2.5/4 with "Friday Night Smackdown!"

CBS took over at 9 p.m. as its college basketball coverage improved to
6.4/11. The premiere of "Identity" on NBC held steady with a 5.8/10.
"The Wedding Bells" posted a 4.0/7 for FOX, narrowly beating a "Wife
Swap" rerun, 3.9/7, on ABC. The second hour of "Smackdown!" improved
by a few tenths on The CW.

At 10 p.m., CBS' hoops, 5.9/11, held off ABC's "20/20," 5.8/10, for
the No. 1 spot. NBC got a 4.9/9 from a repeat of Thursday's "Raines"
premiere.
