[BC] notebook suggestions

The why is the easy part, because I wouldn't be able to afford a Sony or Lenovo. 
I still have my first notebook which was a 486 based Thinkpad. It still works fine, 
but I needed something newer last year. Found a decent priced Lenovo Thinkpad, 
and returned it after numerous erratic booting problems.

Decided to go the cheap route since my son wants a notebook too. 
I figured I'd pass this new one on to him in a couple of years. I was checking some
of the Toshiba specials before Christmas, but the IT guy here at the station said they
weren't holding up well in our sales dept. He suggested Acer. I got one for about
$700 with rebates. It has been doing well so far.
